Stop walking and Stay Fit...

It is a School of Thought when the Motor Mechanic asks that the Vehicle be run daily to keep it operational.
What we need to realize is that this Idle running, in the idea of keeping it in good condition causes unnecessary Wear and Tear of parts, necessitating sooner replacement of parts.

This running is not useful conversion of energy, although it is done to ensure the vehicle is in Good condition when wanted. If it is to keep the battery not losing its charge, then a better way is to disconnect the battery leads so that the battery does not discharge.

Similar is a School of Thought when one is recommended to go for long walks, do the tread mill, do rigorous exercise to stay healthy. Every joint is designed for a limited number of cycles of movement. If the walk is to arrive at a destination, then it serves a purpose. But if it is meant to enable us stay healthy, then replacements like knee cap and other leg joints can be the default status.

A better way is to flex all joints individually once a day, just once, so that it gets its movement and de-stresses... Think before you get ready for your next walk.
